How will I be assessed?
To achieve the VTCT Skills Level 5 certificate, you must pass all of the required assessment components. These have been designed with client safety and industry confidence in mind.
You will complete:
1. Short Answer Response (SAR) assignments
These written assignments are externally set by VTCT Skills and internally marked at the academy. They test your understanding of underpinning theory, professional practice and aspects of ethics and safety that are not covered in as much depth by the multiple-choice exams.2. Summative external theory examinations
You will sit externally set, externally marked multiple-choice examinations that assess your knowledge across the mandatory units, including principles, client assessment, complications, advanced skin science and the specific treatment modalities.3. Formative case studies
You must complete a set number of case studies for each procedure type, as specified by VTCT Skills. These case studies allow you to demonstrate how you apply your knowledge in practice and help prepare you for your final practical assessments.4. Summative practical observations
You will be observed performing the advanced procedures you have been trained in. Your assessor will mark you against VTCT’s criteria for technique, safety, client care, professional conduct and treatment outcomes. You must meet the required Level 5 standard to pass.All internal assessments are subject to internal quality assurance at the academy and external quality assurance by VTCT Skills, so your results are valid and recognised.

We spent our first week at the old location and then continued learning at their new location just down the road. The new location has much more daylight and is a lot less crowded. Overall a great experience.

Missing 5th star as school definitely needs new space as school is very outdated, not very well kept, crowded with items, often missing such simple things as hand soap etc. Having said that, if I would choose to continue my learning, I would go for Ray Cochrane again.
