Coronavirus School Opening Time Update

I am writing to update you on the status of Ray Cochrane Beauty School, following the prime minister, Boris Johnson’s, speech yesterday.

Based on Boris Johnson’s phased approach, beauty salons, hairdressers, clinics and other hospitality businesses will not be in a position to open until July, at the earliest. Each phase has conditions; as long as the rate of infection remains low, we can continue to move on to the next phase, pending government advice. If the rate of infection increases, the country as a whole will move back a phase further delaying our business sector opening.

There are still restrictions for travel in place, and everyone has been advised to avoid public transport, where possible. Social distancing measures will remain in place over the next few phases of the PM’s plan.

Ray Cochrane have been working with my team to develop ways in which it will be safe for us to re-open.
We are also developing ways for our tutors to teach the theory classes online. Details will be forthcoming on this.

I know this is a frustrating time for everyone. We are all subject to these rules.

The school has a responsibility to ensure the safety of all staff and students, and we do not want to risk the rate of infection by opening before it is safe to do so.
