We are pleased to announce that we will introduce four new VTCT-accredited advanced aesthetic courses at Ray Cochrane Beauty Aesthetic Academy. The following higher-level qualifications will become available by the end of 203:

  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Plasma Pen Techniques
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Radiofrequency Microneedling Treatments
  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 6 Award in Mesotherapy Treatments

Our school director, Eleonora Androva, has worked closely with the team at VTCT to create these courses to ensure that they are relevant to the industry’s demands on aspiring and practising Aestheticians. At Ray Cochrane, it is essential to introduce accredited training for these popular aesthetic treatments due to their immediate and long-term dangers when carried out by a non-qualified practitioner. If you want to read about the risks of non-accredited training courses, check out this article. However, keep reading our school update to learn everything about these newly launched courses.

VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Plasma Pen Techniques

Plasma Pen is a popular minimally invasive non-surgical treatment that has taken the industry and the internet by storm.

The Plasma Pen device has the distinctive ability to tighten, rejuvenate, and lift any section of the skin. A Plasma Pen induces instant skin tissue contraction by gently heating the skin and fibroblasts. This process triggers the production of new collagen through minor skin trauma. In turn, it encourages the release and activation of vital proteins and growth factors.

Who is the Level 4 Plasma Pen qualification suitable for?

The course is ideal for those:

  • over the age of 18
  • already possessing a relevant Level 3 Beauty or Facial qualification
  • interested in introducing a new popular aesthetic treatment to their clientele.

If you meet the above criteria, you can enrol on the course and complete the training to become a qualified Plasma Pen practitioner.

What does the Level 4 Plasma Pen course cover?

The course is comprised of only one module – Enhance Appearance using plasma pen techniques, as learners must draw on their Level 3 knowledge of skin anatomy and physiology. Still, the course will further their understanding of the requirements and regulations for safe plasma pen technique. The training will also teach the knowledge and abilities necessary to engage with clients and deliver tailored aftercare and home care recommendations.

To successfully complete the course, learners must complete 20 hours of Guided learning alongside their theory and practical examinations and the required case studies documenting their treatments.

VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments

If you’ve read any of our recent blogs, you’ll know that we are huge fans of chemical peels/skin peeling treatments, and we’re not alone – many clients swear by them for transforming their skin texture and pigmentation!

A chemical skin peeling treatment involves the aesthetician applying chemical solutions from acids such as Salicylic, Glycolic and Kojic to encourage dead skin removal that reveals fresh new skin cells.

Who is the Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments qualification suitable for?

To enrol on the course, you need:

  • to be over the age of 18
  • have completed your Level 4 Skin Peeling qualification
  • have a strong interest in advancing your aesthetic skills and offerings.

If you meet the above criteria, you can join the Level 5 Chemical Peel training with us!

What does the Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments course cover?

This course expands on the previous learnings of the VTCT Level 4 Skin Peeling qualification. Learners will complete the module – Provide superficial chemical skin peeling treatments to finish the course. As a level 5 qualification, students will learn the national and international standards required to practice safely superficial chemical peels. The module will include learning about the regulations and mandates for completing the treatment, the client consultation process, and the practical aspect of applying the chemical solution correctly. As with all Ray Cochrane courses, learners have a live model to practice the treatment.

Finally, participants will complete 14 guided learning hours on top of their treatment case studies, theoretical assessments and practical examinations to gain their pass mark.

VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Award in Radiofrequency Microneedling Treatments

Radiofrequency Microneedling is a relatively new treatment combined, but both have individually held their place in the beauty and aesthetic industry for many years. Microneedling involves delicately puncturing the skin with fine needles to generate tiny wounds or channels. This process stimulates the creation of capillaries, elastin, and collagen and is alternatively known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy.

When this procedure incorporates radiofrequency waves, it’s called radiofrequency microneedling. The needles emit radiofrequency energy into the channels, inducing added microdamage. Radiofrequency amplifies the impact of conventional microneedling.

Who is the Level 5 Award in Radiofrequency Microneedling qualification suitable for?

This training will be completed over 14 guided learning hours, and students will be assessed based on their case studies, assignments and practical examination.

VTCT (ITEC) Level 6 Award in Mesotherapy Treatments

Mesotherapy is a widely favoured non-surgical procedure, using fine needles to inject serums containing a variety of peptides, enzymes, hormones, vitamins, and botanical extracts into the skin. The treatment helps clients target cellulite, loose skin, fat across the body, overall tone, wrinkles and fine lines.

We recently introduced our CPD-accredited Mesotherapy course to introduce this popular treatment to our Level 4 qualified learners, and the training was a massive success, with many introducing the treatment immediately to their clients. We are pleased to present the Level 6 course, which will take students to the next level of Mesotherapy treatment.

Who is the Level 6 Award in Mesotherapy Qualification suitable for?

To be able to enrol on the course, interested parties must:

  • be over the age of 18
  • possess a Level 5 or CPD-accredited Mesotherapy qualification or a Level 5 skin-needling qualification
  • be committed to expanding their advanced aesthetics repertoire.

What does the Level 6 Award in Mesotherapy course cover?

On the course, learners will complete 14 guided learning hours focused on achieving a pass in the following module – Enhance Appearance using Mesotherapy Techniques.

During this qualification, participants will expand their knowledge and grasp of pertinent regulations and procedural guidelines for mesotherapy. Furthermore, learners will acquire the necessary knowledge, comprehension, and abilities to consult effectively with clients and offer tailored aftercare and home care advice. Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to successfully carry out advanced mesotherapy techniques on their patients based on their practice on the course.
